Our Legacy: From Machine Shop to Full-Service Repair

Industrial Brake & Clutch, now known as Automotive Brake & Clutch, was founded in 1985 by Johnny Duffek, Jr. and his partner Johnny Schultz. Our initial goal was highly specialized: to provide relined brake shoes and rebuilt clutches to the demanding San Antonio, Texas, area.

This specialized focus quickly led to significant growth and the need for incorporation in the early 1990s. Today, we’re proud to have been in business for over 35 years, with Johnny’s son, Scott Duffek, at the helm. Scott continues to build on this legacy, bringing over 25 years of hands-on expertise to every repair.
