• Clutch Diameter Pot: Check the friction surface face dimensions, matching standard heavy truck configurations to allow proper pressure plate seating clearances.

Based on our shop experience specializing in heavy-duty brakes and clutches since 1985, premature clutch wear, severe chatter, or release bearing drag on medium and heavy trucks are frequently caused by installing a brand-new clutch kit onto an uneven or heat-checked flywheel. Trying to save time by skipping a full flywheel replacement compromises the entire clutch pressure plate tracking alignment. Always install a brand-new flywheel alongside your new clutch kit, clean the rear crankshaft flange mating face meticulously, and torque the mounting bolts in a progressive star sequence to precise manufacturer parameters before clearing fleet assets for route service.
