The addition of oil circuits to the overdrive planet, output, and intermediate shafts ensures improved lubrication and cooling, contributing to enhanced durability and operational stability under severe towing and payload conditions. All aluminum planetaries are replaced with steel, and the case is drilled and tapped at critical feeds to prevent leaks, ensuring long-lasting reliability.
The full shift kit includes a line mod valve to increase shifting pressures, an upgraded accumulator body with enhanced oil flow, and increased cooler and converter pressure to create positive clutch application. The installation is further optimized with a reprogrammed accumulator body and high-performance oil circulation modifications. The transmission pan is upgraded to a BD rigid aluminum model, providing an additional 6 quarts of oil capacity, reducing case flex, minimizing internal oil leakage, and incorporating heat-dissipating fins for temperature control. The pan’s magnetic drain plug aids in maintaining clean internal components.
This stage 4 upgrade handles up to 300% more power and torque than stock, featuring a fully rollerized geartrain, tighter clutch packs for quicker shifts, and 30-40% more clutch material with additional steels for increased strength. The clutch counts are significantly increased across all packs, including a 33% increase over stock in the intermediate and overdrive clutches, and a 25% increase in the forward clutch, resulting in improved engagement and longevity. Internal lubrication is enhanced by high-power boost valves, and the front pump is reworked for better performance. Upgraded supports, sprags, and sure-loc snap rings contribute to overall drivetrain integrity.
This transmission kit is dyno-tested and includes a 36-month or 150,000-mile limited warranty. It is not recommended for race or sled pull applications and requires a core deposit of $1,200. The kit is designed to improve durability, shift quality, and power handling capacity, making it suitable for demanding fleet and performance applications.
