The inclusion of BD’s durable QT100 pressure plates allows for increased clutch counts, reducing deflection and distortion within the clutch drum for smoother, more reliable shifts. Special tuning adjustments are required for 2019-up models to increase line pressure, and a line pressure controller is recommended but not included, providing customization options for specific performance needs. The transmission also benefits from a custom bonded gasket valve body separator plate that increases line pressure and prevents internal leaks, enhancing overall transmission efficiency. The deep sump oil pan adds extra fluid capacity and cooling capability, which is crucial during prolonged heavy-duty operation, while a steel girdle reinforces the 2C piston to support more clutches and a broader apply area for improved torque capacity. Every unit is outfitted with a hardened anodized valve body and a new solenoid pack to ensure longevity and consistent performance. Performance enhancements include a 33% increase in overdrive and 2C clutches, a heavy-duty cam and roller design for the low reverse one-way clutch, and a custom big stack overdrive shaft. Note that some tuning modifications are necessary for optimal operation, and a core charge of 1800 is applicable. This transmission is shipped with LTL freight and is not compatible with air freight options.
